Event description

In this two-day interactive workshop, full-time swimsuit photographer Joey Wright will teach a highly specialized location class covering the full gamut including pre-production, shooting models on location and post-production. Each student will get to work one-on-one with top models on the beautiful beaches of Miami… a recipe for the most fun you can have while learning! Don’t miss out on this information-filled, action-packed workshop that won’t waste time going over the stuff you can already find in your camera manual.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You can expect to get your toes sandy and your feet wet while enjoying every minute of this two-day intensive that will be sure to heat things up on the beach before cooling you off in the classroom. Each student will have the opportunity to listen, learn, shoot and execute in both individual and team settings. For every 5 students in the class, there will be one gorgeous model in order to give each student the opportunity to direct and shoot with an uninterrupted connection between the subject and lens… not to mention, go home with an upgraded portfolio. This will not be a mass shootout with 15 photographers bumping shoulders for half-decent snapshots of a model who isn’t sure where to look. It’s a must that you walk away with images that deserve your watermark alone!

WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR

This class is geared toward students who simply want to produce better pictures on-location, whether working with experienced models or new faces. If you lack access to a studio or crave more than shooting indoors, it’s essential that you obtain the ability to shoot on location while taking significant control of a seemingly uncontrollable environment. Joey will provide you with the tools and methods necessary to tackle your own location shoots with confidence while relying on taste and problem-solving rather than worrying about camera settings or having the best gear.

If you’re a novice, you’ll go home prepared to take your portfolio to the next level where you’ll stop reaching out to models because they’ll be reaching out to you. If you’re already at that level, you’ll leave much closer to turning your hobby into a career. Still not you, or already in career mode? Then let’s get you ready for the higher expectations that come with bigger clients and greater paychecks. In other words, this class is aimed toward all levels of photographers looking to improve their outdoor game.

GOAL AFTER ATTENDING

The quality of your final image is only as strong as its weakest link, whether it be the hair & makeup, wardrobe, location, model, pose, expression, lighting or retouching. Missing any one of these components will leave you shy of your full potential as a photographer. Rather than simply placing you amongst a preconfigured lighting arrangement, Joey will guide you through every step of his workflow so you’ll not only understand “how”, but “why”. In other words, you won’t be handed a fish… you’ll be taught how to fish.

By the end of this class, you should be sun-burnt, tired (physically & mentally), inspired and – most importantly – eager to get home and put your new skills to use. YOU will become the photographer in your hometown that every model is lining up to shoot with!
